LTG David Wilson, U.S. Army (Ret.), represents nearly four decades of leadership, logistics, readiness, and service at the highest levels of the United States Army.

A 1991 graduate of The Citadel, Wilson rose from his early Army service to become a three-star general, serving around the world and leading some of the Army's most consequential sustainment organizations. His assignments included Commanding General of Army Sustainment Command, Commanding General of the 8th Theater Sustainment Command, senior logistics leadership with U.S. Forces Korea, and the Army's 40th Chief of Ordnance.

His career also made history.

✨ Wilson became the first African American active-duty alumnus of The Citadel to attain general officer rank when he received his first star.

✨ He subsequently became the first African American Citadel graduate to attain the rank of Major General.

✨ In 2024, he was promoted to Lieutenant General, becoming the first African American Citadel graduate to reach three-star rank.

But this conversation is about far more than stars on a uniform.

LTG Wilson's story encompasses adversity, resilience, mentorship, contested logistics, organizational transformation, developing people, breaking barriers, and preparing organizations before the crisis arrives.
