🌟 MEET MY GUEST
After more than 21 YEARS OF HONORABLE SERVICE in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve, spanning five Military Occupational Specialties, SFC Jane Babcock retired from the military but NEVER retired from serving others.
As a nationally accredited County Veterans Service Officer (CVSO) in Wisconsin, Jane helped more than 1,200 veterans and surviving family members navigate the complexities of VA entitlements.
Her outstanding leadership and outreach contributed to remarkable results:
✨ 169% growth in federal benefit dollars per veteran in Manitowoc County between 2007 and 2015.
✨ 25% growth in survivor benefits in Kewaunee County between 2015 and 2018.
✨ Decades of education, advocacy, and volunteer service helping veterans and military families understand what they may be legally entitled to receive.
THIS IS NOT CHARITY. THESE ARE ENTITLEMENTS ESTABLISHED BY LAW FOR THOSE WHO MEET THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.
🎓 WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
✨ What every junior enlisted service member and junior officer should know about VA entitlements BEFORE separating from military service.
✨ Why documenting injuries, medical conditions, and toxic exposures while serving is essential.
✨ How VA disability compensation works—and why combat experience is NOT a prerequisite for eligibility.
✨ The most common mistakes veterans make when filing disability claims.
✨ Overlooked VA healthcare, wartime pension, and Aid and Attendance programs.
✨ How the PACT Act and presumptive service-connected conditions may affect veterans and their survivors.
✨ What military spouses and surviving families should know about DIC, CHAMPVA, pensions, and survivor entitlements.
✨ Why MISSION FIRST, PEOPLE ALWAYS must remain our commitment long after military retirement.
As a U.S. Navy Commander preparing to conclude more than 22 years of honorable service, from Seaman Recruit to Commander, this conversation is PERSONAL.
WE SPEND YEARS TRAINING OUR SERVICE MEMBERS TO DEFEND OUR COUNTRY. WE MUST ALSO PREPARE THEM TO UNDERSTAND THEIR ENTITLEMENTS WHEN THEIR SERVICE ENDS.
